Day 113: Discoveries while weeding

Spent the day weeding the gully in front of my house. Several tree species had seeded and begun to grow and lots of dead leaves and roots piled up. Having this clear is important to the flow of water during heavy rains. I first made prayers to the earth, tree and plant spirits, sharing my intentions, asking for permission and making an offering. And then began to clear the space. It took a few hours of pretty tough work. But along the way i met American Sweetgum sprouts, Isabella Tiger Moth still in its pupa, and black and gold flat millipede.
