Day 171: Becoming

Does destiny preclude emergence of the unknown, unexpected? Does it take away from noticing and experiencing life fully, without expectation? No. I believe that it not just allows for these things, but considers them part of the process of growth.

To what degree are we willing to open ourselves to push the boundaries of our nature, the essence of who we are, to fully immerse ourselves in a process of becoming, on a journey into the unknown? Becoming far more than what the limits of our minds and experiences prescribe or consider possible.

And in this, or by this, i don’t necessarily mean “becoming” as a status or accumulating things or whatever “expansion beyond limits” is often referred to in this materialistic, over consumptive, ego-driven, violent society. But i mean pushing the boundaries of who we are, where we are, our consciousness, wisdoms. Creating small family, community units, for example that meet their needs based upon their shared values and principles, like reciprocity and love. Where we ground ourselves in the truth of who we are. And the truth of our ancestors, including those in recent generations, but also beyond to include those who were untouched by invasions, subjugation, enslavement and colonial rule. Exploring what we can learn from those who valued all life, without hierarchy and domination.

These are just some thoughts i am mulling over this morning…
