Day 27: Soulless

what about your people, your race, your class, your gender,

your culture…you

is more valuable than anyone else’s

such that

you would destroy lands, waters, civilizations

for money?

for the façade of power and wealth?

what about your purpose makes it

more valuable than anyone else’s?

makes your life

more valuable than anyone else’s?

makes your ancestors and your descendants

more valuable than anyone else’s?

places the will, desires, interests of your kind

above all else?

there is something decidedly missing

from your soul.

for you to fuel systems of destruction

erect monuments to destroyers

write fictitious stories about the past and call it history

it appears that a soul that is whole

is of no concern.
