Day 168: Consistent Practice

On my mind this morning is the value of consistent practice in spiritual growth and development. Consistent practice in this case means doing something at regular intervals like praying or meditating each day or on certain days of the week. It could also mean going for a walk at a certain time, blessing one’s food before eating or reciting affirmations in the mirror before starting work. Examples abound.

One way that these (or other) regular practices are important to spiritual growth and development is that they require presence of mind-body-spirit in relationship with one another. Consistent practice allows for the mind to relax its dominance and allow for the wisdoms of the body-spirit to lead and deeper connections with one’s higher self, ancestors, spiritual guides and/or other light beings.

Consistent practice doesn’t necessarily lead to spiritual development, but with intention it most certainly can and does.
