Day 169: Homemade Creamer
So much of what we need, we can make with our own hands. It doesn’t always cost less, given how the industrial production of processed foods has cheapened food products. But at the very least we can know what is in our food and choose whether or not to use chemicals, sweeteners, salts, oils and other additives and how much. Because of a milk allergy, i am no longer able to use dairy cream in my coffee. I’ve tried vegan creamers, but they are expensive. So i decided to learn how to make my own. Though the consistency is not the same as dairy and industrial produced vegan creamers, my homemade one is made of only a couple ingredients, contains no artificial preservatives and additives and tastes fine (although i did need to adjust to the differences).
